(Photos courtesy of Nathan Tong) Here are two pictures of the US Wushu Team at the 1997 World Wushu Games in Rome, Italy. In the top picture, that's US Team athletes Sherng Lee Huang, Tri Nguyen, Mae Hsu, Anita Lopez, Anne Hsu, Clara Shen, Nathan Tong and Luis Diaz from left to right in the back row. Second from the left in the front row is the US Team's coach, Liu Yu.

Forms Results

The following is a partial list of the results from the World Wushu Games. I have listed the top ten competitors, as well as the results of all US Team althletes in that division (and some Canadians too). I also threw in the results of our Internet friends Luciano and Emilio. I apologize for any mistakes, but I got the names from what I believe to be the official FIWuK results list. The country names were provided by Mae Hsu.

Helping Send the US Wushu Team to Rome!

OK! The World Wushu Games are over! And I'm proud to say that we were directly involved in helping send part of the US Team there. We raised over $1300 for our good friends Anne, Mae and Nathan! Not shabby for a bunch of wushu pals chippin' in some pocket change, especially since most of us are students or recent grads who are just startin' out! If a handful of individuals can raise this money, how come the USAWKF couldn't fund anything? Well, thats all in the past now (remember this when your membership fees are due again though).

I do want to take this opportunity to thank our contributors though, their generousity must not go unnoticed! Anne, Mae and Nathan assure me that they will each write a thank you note to all the contributors too, but I wanted to mention them here so the whole WWW could see the supporters! Anyhow, here it is, split into two lists, donors and special donors (if you can think of a better name, let me know).

The money raised has been split three ways between three US Team athletes: Anne Hsu, Mae Hsu and Nathan Tong. Mae and Nathan are still students and Anne has only recently graduated from college, so any donations to offset their expenses were quite beneficial.

Total Donations Promised: $1323

UPDATE!

A Major thanks goes out to our good friends at ! They contributed a great deal of money to help our wushu fundraiser! Therefore I am happy to shamelessly promote them as a way to thank them for help. Help us repay them by visiting their web site and keep them in mind for any web, print or 3-D design jobs out there! Thanks again!

I also want to thank our good friends at Ho Young Pak's National Martial Arts Academy for their generous contribution. Mr. Pak is an old friend of the Hsu sisters, so once he heard that we were collecting money, he was more than happy to help out!
